Bruce Menz

Owner/President

After serving in the U.S. Army for six years, Bruce spent several years working for a local excavating firm. It was then that he realized he wanted to go into business for himself. In 1988, the decision was made and Utilities Unlimited, Inc. was founded. Bruce contributes much of UUI’s success to the hard work, dedication, and loyalty of UUI’s employees. Bruce is married with two children and six grandchildren and enjoys spending time in Montana and woodworking.

Nancy Menz

Secretary/Treasurer

Nancy has provided office support since the early days of UUI. She oversees accounting, HR, and manages the office. She also provides the much-needed checks and balances to keep everyone focused. Nancy is married with two children and six grandchildren, and enjoys spending time in Montana, playing softball and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Andrew Farina

VP of Operations

Andrew joined UUI in 2009 as an estimator and has diligently learned the business, working his way up to his current position. Andrew’s work ethic and willingness to jump in to help others get the job done has contributed to his success. He looks forward to leading others and assisting in the growth of the UUI team. Andrew is married with two daughters and a son. In his spare time, he enjoys attending his kids’ sporting events, shooting skeet, and traveling.

Tommy Smith

Estimator

Before joining UUI in 2015 as an estimator, Tommy worked as an estimator for a site contracting company. Through this experience, UUI knew he would be a great addition to the team. Tommy quickly picked up the utility side of the business and assisted UUI in integrating Trimble Business Center and GPS technology into our business. Tommy is married with a son and a daughter and enjoys playing music, attending his kids’ sporting events, and home improvement projects.

CJ Kouneski

Field Operations Manager

CJ joined UUI in 2017 as a foreman after working in the underground utility business for 15 years. It was apparent early in his UUI career that he had the skills and aptitude to move to the next level and was promoted to superintendent in 2020. In early 2026, UUI is excited to see him perform in his new role of Field Operations Manager. Married with three boys, CJ enjoys family time, homesteading, and shooting.

Rich Merryman

Rich joined UUI in 2012 as an operator and was quickly promoted to foreman. Over the years, Rich has proven that he can handle some of the most complex jobs and enjoys the variety of projects he undertakes, from pipe jobs to SWM projects. Rich lives with his wife on a farmette and enjoys camping.

Larry King

Superintendent

Larry joined UUI in 2021 as a foreman. He’s been in the industry for the last 15 years and fits in well with the team. He’s tackled a variety of road projects and is always up to digging into the next project that comes his way. He was promoted to superintendent in early 2026. Larry is married with four kids and enjoys family time, playing guitar, and tinkering with his hot rod.

Steve Myers

Foreman

Steve joined UUI in 1989 as an operator and has been a UUI site foreman for the last 30 years. He’s a key UUI employee and has proven that he can handle the toughest jobs. In addition, he’s been able to help others and pass on his knowledge. Steve enjoys riding motorcycles, hunting, and camping.

Lance joined UUI in 2022 and in his short time here, he’s proven that he has the experience and knowledge to become a key part of the UUI team. Lance is married and enjoys grilling and shooting.

Mark joined UUI in 2019 and has worked his way up from laborer and operator to his current position as foreman. Mark has a great attitude and has jumped in when needed on various projects to get them across the finish line. Mark has a daughter and enjoys riding motorcycles and shooting.

Sam joined UUI in 2014 and has worked his way up from pipelayer and operator to his current position as foreman. He’s proven to be a loyal employee who is constantly eager to learn and expand his knowledge. Married with a son and daughter, Sam enjoys family time, riding motorcycles, and golfing.
